    Description

    We offer this advertising recipe (receipt) booklet; Congress Cook Book published by D. & L. Slade Company, Boston, 1893. The company offered a line of Slade Spices and Congress Yeast Powder. The covers are color lithographs by the Beacon Lithograph Co, of Boston. The 72 pg booklet, in addition to product descriptions, has many recipes for Bread, Cakes, Pies, and Puddings. There is a useful index. Measures 4-1/2 x 7 inches. Illustrations are limited to a couple of advertising cuts, including a Magee Range (stove) . There is a repair to the top right corner of the cover, (replacing a missing piece). Light wear to the edges and spine. The pages are unmarked, the paper is toned. Overall quite good condition for a very ephemeral item. Please look at our pictures for more detail.
