Description
Very good condition. Playable. 1960's era, gold label Kamaka Soprano Ukulele with dark finish. Japan made. Case included. Sold as is.Let me address a few of the questions I have received:
Q: Is this a "Keiki Kamaka"?
A: It may be, but it is not labeled as such. The headstock has the double K like any other Kamaka of the era. The label is gold.
Q: Are there any cracks? Has it been repaired?
A: No, a few dings from normal wear and tear. This ukulele is in very good, playable condition (and I would hope it gets played). No signs of any obvious repairs.
Q: Is it made of Koa?
A: No, it appears to be made of m ah0gany (likely Philippine, which is actually called Meranti . . . and NOT considered endangered.) This is also evidence that this one was made in Japan.
Q: Which factory in Japan did this come from?
A: I have no idea. I will say that the fit and finish on this ukulele are good and consistent with the Hawaiian made instruments.
Q: Is the neck straight?
A: Yes, the neck is straight!
